What is Christ Consciousness? We have a hard enough time often defining what consciousness is let alone Christ consciousness. Within this blog post I do my best to define what living with Christ Consciousness means and how we all need to “raise our vibration” towards that point to live a more freeing, happy, and prosperous life.
Someone living at the merely human level doesn’t accept the thing of God’s spirit. They are foolishness to such people, you see, and they can’t understand them because they need to be discerned spiritually. But spiritual people discern everything, while nobody else can discern the truth about them! For ‘Who has known the mind of the Lord, so as to instruct him? But we have the mind of the Messiah.’
1st Corinthians 2:14-16
I’m not so sure about you, but if you’re at all like me, there were always points in my life where reading Bible verses and spiritual teachings kind of seemed a little bit foolish. I used to ask myself, “Is this stuff just made up religion or is it something deeper?” Should I even follow any type of “religion?” I’ve always been someone who has removed the word “religion” from my language because it’s so indoctrinated and so polarizing. However, there’s absolutely truth to the things that the Bible has taught us and many other different spiritual teachings throughout history.
In the future, we are going to be looking at those many different types of spiritual teachings, not just of the Bible. The message for today is really about Christ consciousness. What does that mean? In my study and personal level of life experience; it means an ever present awareness and connection to all things love, energy, and compassion. All aspects that make up our higher selves and souls and of which we are connected to energetically from our physical selves.
We are spiritual beings having a physical experience

Whether you call it Christ Consciousness, overall oneness, or a connectedness to all things in the universe; it’s the same aspect. We are a spiritual being, having a human experience. And in order to have the best physical human experience, become aware that as we think and contemplate, the structure of our brains change.
Going back to the verse from 1st Corinthians 2:14-16, the mind of the Messiah, in my terminology means the mind of Christ consciousness. It means having an acceptance of all things, nonphysical spirit, soul, connectedness, to the Source. That is what it means to be spiritual and discerning of all things.
Spirituality is not something that we should scoff at and laugh foolishly about. If people laugh at you for your beliefs, let them laugh, let them eat cake, as it was once said. We are not to be concerned with other people’s lives or what they think of us. We are here to live our best lives possible while wishing the best for others too.
Living with Christ Consciousness means following the “Golden Rule”

Some of you may have had moments in your life as well, where you felt that following the way of Christ consciousness might have seemed foolish or impossible to do. We are taught to love our enemies, turn the other cheek, and to forgive people that hurt us. Sometimes we want to make people pay. Often we think it feels good to be right, to get over on someone or prove that they were wrong.
We want justice, retribution, and retaliation. That’s often the ego at work inside of us. However, repaying evil or bad people in any kind of way, never really works out in the end. When we are in these disheartened debates, it can spiral out of control as each person attacks the other and can continue on for years and even decades.
That’s no way to live. Justice and violence are not interchangeable terms. We can fight fire with fire as the saying goes, but we do run the risk of getting burned. In fact, our bitterness or uncontrolled anger can hurt us as much as it can hurt the person we are trying to get even with. Loving those who are hard to love may sound crazy, ridiculous, and outlandish. But if we want to see a different kind of world; a world of love, mercy, compassion, humility, and grace, we need this awareness.
Love is a part of Christ Consciousness

Reacting in a more loving way does actually make sense perhaps instead of sending in the tanks and going to war. It also helps you within your mental state of happiness. We can send in that love, humility, and peace to see a different, surprising world of results and change.
That would be something that I can get behind and no matter what. I’m okay letting the other person think if they want to that they got one up on me. In the end, I’m only keeping score of myself and the actions that I take in my life. I’m out of the comparison game.
That my friends, is what I believe living with Christ consciousness really means. What are your thoughts? I’d be thrilled and happy to hear them…
